Welcome to my madness =) ! I’m the heart and soul behind Authentic Atlas. My journey into the world of travel advisory didn't start the way you might expect. Since I was a teenager, I’ve been climbing the corporate ladder, with each step seeming like the obvious next move. Business management? It came naturally to me. Serving clients, building teams and analyzing results? I was in my element (so I thought!). But something was always missing – even my average of 3 trips a year wasn’t enough.

You see, while I enjoyed my work, I never felt completely fulfilled. I was that person who was a bit too curious, always pushed boundaries, constantly wondering, "Is this it? Is this where I’m meant to be?" After 15 years of excelling in my career, I had an epiphany: I wasn’t working for the joy of the job, but to fund my next adventure. Each vacation was a breath of fresh air, a cultural immersion that I craved more than anything.

It was time for a change—a big one. I decided to turn my passion into my profession. Fast forward through a whirlwind of risks and bold decisions, and here I am, in the enchanting Yucatan. Based mainly in Merida, I now spend my days curating unique itineraries, helping others fall in love with this incredible Mayan land just like I did.

I’ve traded in my corporate grind for a life filled with vibrant cultures, breathtaking adventures, and the joy of sharing it all with you. This isn’t just my vacation life; this is my full-time life. And I couldn’t be happier.

Quick Mexican Travel Tips from a Gringa

If a restaurant has a dish named after it —order that. Trust me, they're not naming bad food after themselves.
Learn at least 3 Spanish/Yucatecan curse words. It might not help you find the bathroom, but it'll start a great convo with your tour guide!
Speaking of bathrooms, practice your squatting technique. Toilet seats seem to be an optional accessory in some places.
Be curious and ask questions. There's beautiful history and cultural influence everywhere you turn. My best memories are stories from strangers about this land.
Remember, you're not in Kansas anymore—things are delightfully different. Embrace it, leave your criticism at home!
